Frequently asked questions.

If you still have questions after exploring my website, I’d love to help. I want you to feel informed and comfortable before we begin. Here are a few additional questions I often get—and I’m always happy to answer more.

How does insurance work?

The best way to begin is by reaching out to your insurance provider to learn about your mental health benefits, including any co-pays or deductibles you may have. This helps you understand your costs and allows us to get your sessions set up more efficiently.

If I am out of network, I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company, which may offer partial reimbursement for your sessions.

Where do you see clients?

I see clients online via a telehealth platform or in person in San Jose. In the past, I have also done walk and talk therapy with consent forms properly signed. If you are hesitant with online therapy, I can say that I have managed to maintain multiple clients online due to my style of therapy.

I want to work with you, what now?

Awesome! I’m so glad you’ve chosen to work with me. Before our first session, we’ll make sure all necessary documents are completed and signed. During our first few sessions, we’ll review that paperwork together, and I’ll begin gathering background information to better understand your story. From there, we’ll collaborate to create a plan that supports your goals and guides our work moving forward.

What are your cancellation policies?

Well I know that life happens. When I begin with clients I let them know that 24 hours advanced notice is required. Clients have unexpected issues come up and with enough notice, we can reschedule within that week. My Late-Cancellation and No-Show fee is $50. Late cancellation meaning within 3 hours of the session time. This ensures that I have some wiggle room for myself in my schedule.

Who is felicia outside of being a therapist?

Outside of being a therapist, I like to remind clients that I also serve as a Peace Officer - that’s one of my roles, but not the whole picture of who I am. At my core, I’m just a human being who loves connecting with others and helping people through both my education and my own life experiences.

I enjoy horror movies, hiking, and I am a proud Latina. I’m also really good at karaoke and love talking about health and wellness. I often share parts of my journey with autoimmune issues and how I’ve learned to support thyroid health naturally.

If you couldn’t already tell from my website, I have a deep love for music and poetry - so much so that there may be a book in the future.

Do you offer trainings or talks?

I train and have trained a wide variety of individuals and groups. I do offer wellness workshops, group work, or consultations for those interested in doing this awesome work. Fees for all of those can be discussed.

What ARe your specialties?

I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating a wide range of life experiences and challenges. My goal is to create a safe, culturally responsive space that supports healing, growth, and meaningful connection.
